The Scandinavian Journal of Military Studies is published by the Royal Danish Defence College, the Swedish Defence University, the Norwegian Defence University College, the Centre for Military Studies, University of Copenhagen and the Swedish Centre for Studies of Armed Forces and Society.
The SJMS team is very proud to present our brand new special issue about exercises and wargames in professional military education. The issue is guest edited by Associate Professor Carsten Rønnfeldt from the Norwegian Defence University College.
Featuring essays from a number of prominent researchers within the field, the issue touches on many matters vital to wargaming and exercies, particularly emphasising the ways Norway has used such methods for the purposes of research and development of officer competence.

The SJMS Team is stoked to present our latest special issue: "Strategy - what is the use of it?"
Guest edited by Peter Viggo Jakobsen and featuring a number of military studies and strategy scholars from the Royal Danish Defence College, the special issue's article articles are about highly important issues, including how small states might achieve strategic success on the global scene and in connection with military deployments, what NATO should do as an organization to meet future challenges, and the use of causal theories of threat and success.
This is an important one!
